Prayer Request Archives A special request for prayer, prayer for our nation. (06/08/06) - - - - - - - - Please keep on praying, we do have POWER in our prayers because the God of the universe hears us. God tells us the following in 2 Chronicles 7:14: ...if my people, who are called by my name, (CHRISTians) will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, THEN will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. On the other hand, he goes on to say in vv 19-22: But if you turn away and forsake the decrees and commands I have given you and go off to serve other gods and worship them, then I will uproot Israel from my land, which I have given them, and will reject this temple I have consecrated for my Name. I will make it a byword and an object of ridicule among all peoples. And though this temple is now so imposing, all who pass by will be appalled and say, 'Why has the LORD done such a thing to this land and to this temple?' People will answer, 'Because they have forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers, who brought them out of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, worshiping and serving them-that is why he brought all this disaster on them.' Let us all do his and her part to allow God to bless each of us and make us 'PRAYER WARRIORS' for our great and wonderful nation! Someone has said that, if Christians really understood the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. In W.W.II there was an advisor to Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every day at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England, its people and peace. There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America. If you would like to participate: Every evening at 9:00 PM Eastern Time, (8:00 PM Central), (7:00 PM Mountain), (6:00 PM Pacific), stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States, our troops, our citizens, and for peace in the world. If you know anyone else who would like to participate, please pass this along. Our repentant prayers are the most powerful asset we have. "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." —James 5:16 |
